The Institute of Veterinary Pathology of the University of Zurich is seeking a veterinarian to undertake a postgraduate research project on the pathogenesis of rotavirus infection in pigs.

The project will have a focus on in vitro and morphological studies.
The position is available from 1st August 2022, initially for 12 months.

The post holder has the following tasks:
– Practical work for the dissertationproject
– Contribution to the Institute’s post mortem diagnostic service (pathology internship).
The successful applicant fulfils the following requirements:
– EU-recognised veterinary degree
– Interest in laboratory work
– Interest in pathology and in postgraduate training in this discipline
– Very good English and German skills (spoken and written).
We offer:
– Dissertation (Dr.med.vet.), experience in advanced cell and tissue culture, advanced light and electron microscopy, combined with training in pathology (internship)
– Option for a subsequent residency towards the certifying examination of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists
– Salary according to the guidelines of the SNF
